Research profile

Dolf Klomp is a doctoral candidate in the Polymer Technology group at the Eindhoven University of Technology. He works on the creation of a Discrete Element Method (DEM) model for 3D Multi-Material food printing. The goal of his project is to design a miniaturized piezo-electric actuated hopper capable of selectively depositing a range of food materials. This will allow for the creation of a multi-material powder bed that is needed for multi-material 3D food printing.

Academic background

Dolf Klomp obtained his B Eng degree at the Rijswijk University of Applied Sciences in 2003. After 14 years of working in the applied research field, from 2011 at the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), Dolf came back to academia in 2016 to start his PhD project in the field of 3D Food Printing.
