Academic background

Gizem Korpeoglu received her PhD in Economics from Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, and she also holds an MS degree from there. She received her BS degree from Middle East Technical University. Before joining TU/e, she worked at Bilkent University Industrial Engineering Department as an assistant professor and at University College London School of Management as a postdoctoral research fellow.

Research profile

Gizem Korpeoglu is an assistant professor at the Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship and Marketing (ITEM) group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Her research domain is innovation and operations interface. She studies markets and competition in the context of online platforms such as crowdsourcing platforms, supply chains, and not-for-profit cooperatives. Her papers have appeared at top operations journals such as Management Science and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and leading economics journals such as Journal of Mathematical Economics. She is a member of INFORMS, TIMES, MSOM, and POMS, and a recipient of Irene Curie Fellowship (100,000 euros) at TU/e. One of her crowdsourcing papers received the winner award at INFORMS Technology Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship Section (TIMES) best working paper competition in 2020, another one received the runner-up award in the same competition in 2018.
