Research profile

Stephan Maussen is a part-time assistant professor with the research group Urban Systems and Real Estate (USRE) of the department for the Built Environment. The USRE group is responsible for education and research in the area of real estate management and urban development. Stephan has gained extensive experience with science based demand driven project development in real estate. He supervises the multi-project in which the various disciplines develop an area. He also supervises various graduate students in various fields, co-housing, circular economy, valuation, public housing and housing preferences. 

Academic background

Stephan Maussen obtained his MSc in Architecture Building and Planning from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e, the Netherlands) in 1994. In 1997 he was appointed as an assistant professor with the research group for Real Estate Management & Development at the department of the Built Environment. In 2005, he obtained his Master of Real Estate and Development from TIAS School for Business and Society (Eindhoven/Tilburg). In his professional career he has worked as a senior consultant for the foundation Interface (1994-2000) and Bouwen In Eigen Beheer (Eindhoven, 2006-2017). In 2014 he co-founded Real Consult, an engineering consultancy firm active in the fields of real estate consultancy, project management and development, and software developmentSince 2016, he is member of the board at KilimanjaroWonen and in 2017 he started wijontwikkelenzelf.nl to support collective private initiatives in property development.
